Fabric Ornament Number One

To make one of these fabric ornaments, you will need:
- two contrasting Christmas fabrics
- two buttons or charms
- thread/ribbon for hanging
- matching sewing thread

1. Cut two triangles with equal sides - these are 9 inches.

2. Sew together with right sides of fabric facing, leaving a small opening for turning.
3. Turn in the right way and press, making sure corners are pointed, and then sew opening closed.

4. With knotted thread, sew through one corner of the triangle, then sew through each other corner so the three corners match together.

5. Centre the three corners and thread needle through to the back of the fabric, catching all the fabric.

6. Flip fabric over, it should now look like a hexagon.
7. Thread needle through centre of one of the sides, pulling it into the middle. Repeat on two other sides.

8. Thread needle through to the back to stabilise.

9. Attach a button or charm to the centre of each side.

10. Loop a hanging thread in one corner.

Fabric Ornament Number Two

To make one of these you will need:
- contrasting Christmas fabrics
- a button or charm that will be sewn onto the middle
- thread/ribbon for hanging
- matching sewing thread
- your sewing machine and iron

1. From your Christmas fabric, cut two circles approximately 8 inches diameter. I used a small side plate for my template.
2. Sew the pieces together, right sides facing, leaving a small opening for turning.

3. Turn through, iron pieces and sew the opening closed.

4. Fold the circle in half, and sew together at the top.

5. Catch other two sides in the middle.

6. Thread needle through to the back and then back to the front to secure.

7. Turn over the four corners. You can press the corners down to make them sit better.

8. Sew a button or charm to the centre and loop a hanging thread through one corner.
